Flood Sensor

The flood sensor monitors for water leaks in your home. When a small leak is caught early, the damage is minimized if any. Water leaks come from a variety of sources, such as heavy rain, pipes, water heater, older appliances, or more. Ideally, place the flood sensor behind a refrigerator with water dispensing, washing machine, or other water-using appliances. In addition, under sink cabinets, and in the basement are also suggested spots. The sensor itself should not get wet, but rather the two contacts at the end of the sensor’s six-foot cord are what comes in contact with the water.

Be sure to pair it with your IQ Panel to receive text alerts for any flooding detected. Doing this allows the IQ Panel to notify you with an email or text alert warning of the presence of water. With an optional Z-Wave waterline valve, you are even able to turn off the water valve to avoid further damage.
